Pietà in Jerusalem | 2024

           |

Pietà in Jerusalem, a site specific dance piece for five dancers, deals with pieta and procession, symbols from human history whose meaning is frozen in time, and remains part of human lives. Body encounters and images of sacrifice, dragging and carrying, evoke associations rooted in social aspects, unity-resistance situations and effort for the other, charging with new validity familiar forms from reality. The location of the performance, on the balcony of the Clal Center in Jerusalem, allows the piece to re-examine the relations between dancers and spectators and its part in the existence of piece.
